Weekend is around the corner and it's always the same story: we always go for the same food. Either its a burguer on Saturday or a Sunday Roast the next day, we can easily accommodate when it comes to creativity on the table.
So if you're feeling as bored as we are with our weekend restaurant picks, here is a cheap and interesting twist: Afghan Kitchen. It's pure, home made, honest food from a place we only hear about in the news about war. And we must say, Afghanistan should make headlines for its food as well, because it's delicious!
Set in the heart of Islington, the restaurant is a great option if you're looking for an uncomplicated place to eat and spent little money (£40 will give you an Afghan feast for two with wine on the side!). It was opened six years ago by Habib Kawyani, an Afghani former news cameraman for Channel 4 and the BBC, who first came to Britain 20 years ago.
Expect a mix of flavours which my resemble Turkish or Iranian food, but not quite. It's hard to explain....you have to go and taste it for yourself. Our hot tip is the amazing chicken in yorgut sauce. Add some rice with it and it's perfection.
