Discovering Latin American Film Festival at Tate Modern & Odeon Covent Garden

If you are a fan of Latin American film productions, this is the post for you. Tomorrow is the start of Discovering Latin America Film Festival (DLAFF) is celebrating its 10th edition. The festival will run from the 27th November to the 4th December, at TATE Modern

and Odeon Covent Garden. These institutions partnered up with Discovering Latin America Film Festival to support victims of human trafficking in Guatemala. The proceeds of this year festival will be donated to “Association La Alianza”, a safe house set up exclusively for girls

between the ages of 12 and 18 who have been victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking in Guatemala.

The Festival will screen a total of 15 features and 3 documentaries as well as a night of shorts at Odeon Covent Garden and Tate Modern. Tickets are available at http://discoveringlatinamerica.com/film

Here is what to expect at this year´s edition:

• A wide selection of films from exciting countries like Argentina, Mexico, Brazil

and Colombia, as well as lesser known cinematographies from Cuba, Guatemala,

Ecuador and Peru.

• Gala nights with directors to present and talk about their work

• Organised in collaboration with TATE Modern, Colombian Luis Ospina will make a rare

appearance in London to present and discuss his influential and remarkable retrospective.

• The festival will be open with the highly acclaimed Chilean thriller ‘To kill a man’ which won

Sundance Grand Jury Prize 2014. Director Alejandro Fernández Almendras will be at the

the opening gala screening.

• Robert Pietri, together with producer Tara Pietri and actor James Alexandrou will conduct

a workshop on Impromptu strategies after the screening of their UK premiere ‘Semper Fidel’.
