Where to eat delicious Brazilian food? We know the answer.

This summer 2014, Brazil hit the headlines worldwide powered by that pilgrimage of all football worshipers, the FIFA World Cup. In UK, an enormity of Brazilian themed products appeared in the summer months, from pineapple flavoured water to wacky tropical pizza toppings.

Moreover to the restaurant scene, top UK chefs incorporated Brazilian ingredients in their menus and lots of new Brazilian themed pop up ventures and restaurants appeared in this side of the Atlantic. Now, this winter it is all about…. Brazil again! This time the inspiration came by the Masterchef: The Professionals contestant Luciana Berry, a caterer from Harrow reaching the semi finals of the show. She has wowed Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti with well presented dishes, packed with flavours inspired by her home country.

We at AVE also have a foot in Brazil, so we´ve decided put together a list of 6 key UK restaurants offering the best of Brazilian food, from north to south of Blighty. Some restaurants could not be posted here, but we will prepare another guide in 2015. For the time being, bom apetite!

Tropeiro is a small chain of Brazilian churrascaria restaurants, offering dining in the ‘rodizio’ style. Christmas party-goers can get right into the festive ‘spirit’ with the addition of a limited edition cocktail to its menu for December. Created by its Chester restaurant, the Christmas Chocolate

Orange is exclusive to Tropeiro and is designed to capture the tastes and aromas of Christmas in a glass. You can try out this special cocktail whilst digging into delectable chicken hearts (trust us, it is awesome) in their Chester, Sheffield, Glasgow and Nottingham restaurants.

Canela is primarily a portuguese restaurant and bar, previously a café but this year the site had undergone a serious makeover and so has its menu. There is a dedicated section of the menu for speciality Brazilian food like cheese breads and Feijoada. Located in the heart of London´s theatre-land, it is an excellent choice for a pre-theatre meal with some hearty Portuguese wines.

Tia Maria

Located in South Lambeth Road and housed at a former pub site, Tia Maria offers diners all the Brazilian favourite snacks and meat dishes, but this is not the reason this joint made to our list. It is our recommended venue to try the Brazilian tapioca pancake, a dish common in the north of Brazil. Try out the tapioca with cheese, ham and coconut filling whilst enjoying the live music!
